Every year, thousands of Calgarians and their four legged friends gather to raise awareness, support, and funds, for the Calgary Humane Society. This year, we would like to share our love for this organization, as our Charity Spotlight feature!
The Annual Dog Jog is a fundraising walk and festival being held on June 2nd at South Glenmore Park. Sponsors such as Calgary Co-op, the Calgary Herald, Pet Secure, Tail Blazers, and the City of Calgary are coming together to host this amazing event. Vendors providing services and products will be on site to offer you and your dog the best care and supplies available in the city.
I personally hold this event near and dear, with my Hank being a rescue from the Cochrane Humane Society. Abuse and neglect plague all pets of all kinds, and without services like the Calgary or Cochrane Humane Society, these animals would never be rehabilitated or fostered into loving homes.
Feel free to join this fun filled event with a 2.5 or 5km walk, a visit to the onsite Barkingville Marketplace, chow down on treats from a variety of vendors and food trucks, and support the SPCA. Joyce and I will be strolling through with our canine pals, Hank and Coco, and we would love for you to join us!
Visit the Dog Jog webpage at https://www.calgaryhumane.ca/dogjog for more information. If unable to join this event, the SPCA is always looking for volunteers and donations. Details can be found at their official home page, http://www.calgaryhumane.ca/home
