To beat the January winter blues, we had the extreme pleasure of working with some fabulous Calgary vendors last month for a collaborative creative shoot to the theme of “Succulent Romance.” The talented Sarah Pukin Photography provided the perfect studio for our set, which Kalista Weddings draped in romantic sheer chiffon and adorned with handmade paper flowers (watch for our upcoming DIY project, using coffee filters). We loved the concept of incorporating fresh succulent plants with the luxurious decor, giving an eco-romantic vibe to the soft color palette of peach, seafoam green, light pink, and gold. The abundance of floral and lace details were balanced with metallics, cameos and pearls, adding a feminine and Victorian touch.
The sumptuous wedding gowns, courtesy of Ruby Woo Wedding Couture Inc. were worn to perfection by the bevy of models. We were rreated to a parade of haute couture heels, a shoeholic’s dream with an array of fabulous stilettos, satin, glitter, and studded feet candy bringing a pop of colour to the ruffles, rosettes, and layers of beautifully designed dresses. Special thanks to Polly Shum and Stella Chio for their makeup and hair artistry in making our models glow!
The models were accessorized with custom jewelry pieces from Ethereal Creation, in keeping with the pearls and mix of silver and gold, giving an eclectic yet elegant and timeless look.
Modern Petals‘ interpretation of romance could not have been more fitting, with three distinctly stunning bouquets accented with rich broaches, a fan centrepiece paying homage to Victorian style, Euro-inspired Cone bouquet (reminiscent of a carrying purse), and a classic yet rustic candelabra swathed in earthy moss and peachy tea roses.
The Social Page designed a lace inspired stationary set in soft pink and seafoam green to complement the florals and table setting, accented with pearls and Swarovski crystals.
The delectable creations of Sweet Provocateur graced the sweets table, where frosted petite seafoam green desserts were topped with dainty crystalline sugarwork and white chocolate curls, whilst a grand three tiered buttercream cake was decorated in fresh flowers.
A big thanks to GAPS Prop Shop & Spoilt Red Productions for providing some of the props and linens to create the tablescapes.
Here are some of our favorites from the shoot! A huge thanks to all the vendors for bringing the fun energy and creative vision
Remember to always savour the Love & Succulence in Life!
